Annapurna Eco Village is located approximately 16 km from the principle town of Pokhara, Nepal. Pokhara and the surrounding areas are some of the best places on the planet to experience sensational mountain vistas with easy access to staggering trekking, hiking and mountaineering opportunities.
While the mountains are sometimes obscured in the Lakeside area of Pokhara by mist, you can count on spectacular views of the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges of the Himalayas from our hilltop village of Astam. Please keep in mind that the road up to the Eco Village is steep and rocky, and cannot be traversed in a regular car.
1. Offroad Vehicle @ Amrit Treks and Expeditions
You can hire a four wheel drive off road jeep at our family-run booking office right on the Lakeside in Pokhara: Amrit Treks and Expeditions (click the link for location and contact info). You’ll drive by means of Hemja Milanchowk, along Pokhara Baglung Highway. Rough terrain begins from Hemja Melbot driving through around 7 KM scenic foothills to the highest point of Astam Village. It is a beautiful and adventurous drive with incredible views of towering rice fields and beautiful green hillsides at every turn!
2. You can rent a motorbike from lakeside and take a great ride all the way up to the eco village. Take good care if it’s raining as the road is slippery.
3. If you are into mountain biking and are traveling light, why not ride on up the eco village and get a bit of exercise and take in the views!?
